DISCREET, NO-JUDGMENT HELP

WHOLE-HOME HOARDING CLEANUP

How a Hoarder House Cleanup Works

A hoarded house can feel impossible to start. Our job is to break it into clear, simple steps so you always know what happens next.

  1. Walkthrough. We look at the home with you, in person or by photos and video if that is easier. We note which rooms need work, how we can get in and out safely, and anything you want handled first.
  2. A plan that fits you. We agree on the order of rooms, what gets kept, and what gets checked before it goes. Some people want it all done at once. Others need a few visits. Both are fine.
  3. Sorting with you, or for you. You can work alongside us and make calls as we go, or give us a list of things to watch for and let us sort.
  4. Haul-away. We load and remove the items you do not want, room by room, including furniture, bags, boxes, appliances and general clutter.
  5. Donation and recycling. Usable items can go to donation and metals, cardboard and electronics to recycling where possible, so less ends up in a landfill.
  6. Broom-clean finish. When the stuff is gone, we sweep out the cleared spaces so you can see the floors and walls again and plan what comes next.

Keeping What Matters

A cleanup is not about throwing everything away. Hoarded homes often hide things people really want back: photos, letters, jewelry, cash, papers, keepsakes and family items. Before we start, tell us what you are hoping to find. We set aside anything that looks personal or important so you can decide on it, instead of us deciding for you.

If you are not sure about something, it goes in a “maybe” pile. Nothing you have asked us to save gets hauled away. You stay in control of your belongings the whole time.

Discreet and Respectful, Start to Finish

Hoarding is common, and it is nobody’s business but yours. Our crew works quietly and treats the home and the people in it with respect. We do not lecture, we do not share photos, and we do not talk about your home with neighbors.

Many of our calls come from adult children, friends or landlords helping someone else. If the person living in the home is nervous, we can slow down, explain each step, and work in shorter visits. A calm, steady pace usually gets better results than rushing.

LET JUNK POLICE DO THE HEAVY LIFTING

Safety First in Hoarded Homes

Hoarded homes can have blocked exits, heavy piles, weak floors, pests or mold. We clear paths first so everyone can move safely, then work through each room. If we find something that needs a specialist, like mold, pests or a biohazard, we will tell you and help you plan for that part before the rest of the job continues.

Need help with a single room, a basement or a garage instead of the whole house? Our cleanout services and residential junk removal cover smaller jobs too.

Hoarder House Cleanup FAQ

How long does a hoarder house cleanup take?

It depends on the size of the home and how full it is. Some homes are done in a day, and others take several visits. After the walkthrough we will give you a realistic plan and timeline.

Do I have to be there during the cleanup?

No. Many people like to be there to make decisions, but you can also give us a list of what to keep and look for and let us work. We will set aside anything personal or important for you to review.

Will you throw away things I want to keep?

No. Before we start, we agree on what to save and what to watch for. Anything that looks personal, valuable or important goes in a separate pile for you to decide on.

Can you help if the person living there is not ready?

We can go slowly, work in short visits, and explain each step. We work with the family and the resident to find a pace that feels manageable.

What happens to the items you remove?

Usable items are donated when possible, and materials like metal, cardboard and electronics are recycled where we can. The rest is disposed of properly.

What areas do you serve for hoarding cleanups?

We are based in West Deptford, NJ, and serve South Jersey up to about an hour and a half away, including Gloucester County and Camden County towns like Deptford, Mullica Hill, Williamstown, Sicklerville, Cherry Hill, Haddonfield and Collingswood, plus Burlington County, the Jersey Shore and Philadelphia.
